WDT Driver Mentor Program

Western Dairy Transport realizes the importance of encouraging peer-to-peer interactions and capitalizing on drivers' experiences in the industry and with the company. We are excited to announce that we are initiating a "DriverMentor Program" to build relationships between new and experienced drivers, further strengthening our company mission.

A mentor is an experienced and thoughtful leader committed to investing one's time to assist in the growth and development of others. The mentor is willing to share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom and act as a guide and role model. A mentor supports and encourages the mentee's professional development and provides active guidance to help them achieve their goals. The mentor reinforces the core purpose, mission, and vision of WDT. The core values of safety and quality service provided in Phase I and II of training will be the guiding principles the mentor will use, fostering the growth and educational development of the mentee. DriverMentors are engaged with the company, want to share their experience and knowledge with new hires, and strive to assist current drivers. Experienced drivers can often help a newly hired driver work through situations more effectively, thus retaining valuable assets safely. This program is perfect for those drivers who do not wish to take on the role of Driver Trainers but want to be a resource for others.

Many of you already naturally fill these roles daily, and we are so grateful for the responsibility you have accepted and your heart and passion for your colleagues. This program allows us to recognize you, provide you with resources, support you in your actions, and compensate you for the time and care you take sharing your knowledge. Your Terminal Manager can provide more details, including the preferred and required experience recommended to become part of this new DriverMentor Program.
